Update – 4/18/2025

April 18, 2025 | Uncategorized

It’s been a while since I posted a blog update, so here goes…

Emelie and I are doing well – the wedding is still going to happen. When we started planning, Emelie was still teaching, and we had price lists from a short time before. Since then, Emelie left teaching to pursue her art business, and the vendors have decided to raise their rates significantly in such a short period of time.

As a result of both items, our priorities have shifted slightly, as we are working to replace Emelie’s income while we also prepare for a wedding. Wedding planning itself has slowed down a bit, as we hope the vendors will be willing to make reasonable offers when we come back around.

Let me be clear… We aren’t going to pay a ridiculous amount for a wedding when we are already down financially between increasing living expenses and a change in income.

So, why not just have a simple wedding? The answer is simple.

Emelie went through that already when she married her late husband. And it’s time she has a day of her own.

So, eventually we will find vendors that are willing to give us reasonable rates. And when the wedding happens, it will all make sense as to why it took as long as it did to pull it off.

I’m aiming to not schedule the wedding in the same calendar year the save-the-dates go out, so that each family has a chance to plan time off and travel within a reasonable period of time, as many people plan their time off at the beginning of a calendar year.

We could have a small wedding, but one big thing that’s important to both of us is… you… the people we love. And therefore, we want to make sure we can find a location that can accommodate our 3 families: hers, mine, and our personal transformation friends who have become family over the years.

So, hang tight – if we happen to find a way to move a date up from 2027 we’ll give you ample notice. Feel free to check the blog and website occasionally.

We love you!
